Sign a contract and lock it before you send it

2 steps A few minutes

Close the two gaps in a plain PDF contract: it is unsigned, and anyone can open it.

Sending a contract as a plain PDF leaves two gaps: it is not signed, and anyone who gets the file can open it. Both close in a couple of minutes. Sign first so the document is complete, then add the password as the final step, since protecting it before you are done editing just means unlocking it again.

  1. 1

    Sign and fill the document

Add your signature and complete any form fields directly on the PDF. No printing and scanning required.

    Open Sign
  2. 2

    Set an open password

Add a password so only your recipient can open the file, then share that password through a separate channel.

    Open Protect

Frequently asked questions

Is a typed or drawn signature legally valid?
In most countries a clear electronic signature is accepted for routine agreements, though high-value or regulated contracts may need a dedicated e-signature service with an audit trail. Check what the other party requires.
Should I send the password in the same email?
No. Send the file in one message and the password by another route, such as a text or a call. Putting both in one email defeats the point of the password.
