Nothing here is an audio file. Every tone is generated by your browser's audio engine as you listen, which is why a 40 minute session costs no download and never buffers. It also means the pitch is exact: a 432 Hz tone really is 432 Hz, not an MP3 someone rendered once and re-uploaded.

Binaural beats need headphones to work at all. They play a slightly different frequency in each ear, and the beat you hear is the difference between the two, produced inside your head rather than by the speakers. On a laptop speaker both channels mix in the air before they reach you and the effect disappears. Isochronic tones do not have that limitation, so use those if you are not wearing headphones.

One honest caveat, because this corner of the internet is full of overclaiming: the research on specific frequencies changing mood or healing anything is thin and mostly small studies. What is well supported is that steady, predictable sound masks distracting noise and helps some people concentrate or fall asleep. Treat these as a focus and sleep aid, not medicine.

Which sound for which job

Noise colours
Mask a noisy room. Brown is the softest, white the harshest, pink sits between them.
Binaural beats
Put headphones on and pick a beat frequency for focus or winding down.
Solfeggio tones
Play an exact pure tone if you want a specific pitch rather than a noise bed.
Nature loops
Rain and similar loops, for when a flat noise bed feels too clinical.
Breathing timer
Box breathing and 4-7-8, paced visually instead of by counting.

Every sound and tone

Questions about the sound tools

Do I need headphones?
For binaural beats, yes, and the effect genuinely does not work without them. Everything else, including noise colours, pure tones and nature loops, is fine on speakers.
Does anything download or need an account?
No. The sound is generated in your browser as it plays, so there is no file to fetch and nothing to sign up for. Once the page has loaded it keeps working offline.
Do these frequencies actually heal anything?
No, and be wary of sites that say otherwise. The evidence for specific frequencies having specific effects is weak. The reliable benefit is masking distracting noise, which helps plenty of people focus or sleep.
Can I leave it running overnight?
Yes. The generator does not loop a file, so there is no seam or gap to wake you. Set your device volume low before you start, since a steady tone at high volume for hours is not good for your hearing.
Are they free?
Yes, free with no account. This corner of the network is kept ad-free on purpose, because a page you use to fall asleep should not flash at you.
