Social media post preview tool

Type your caption once and see exactly where each platform hides the rest behind a "see more" fold, so you front-load the words that make people stop scrolling.

Platforms to preview
Start typing a caption to see how it looks before the "see more" fold on each platform.
Tip. Put the hook, the offer, or the question inside the visible part. Everything after the fold is a click away.

Every network keeps only the first stretch of a caption on screen and tucks the rest behind a "see more" tap. Instagram shows about 125 characters in the feed, TikTok around 100, LinkedIn about 140, YouTube descriptions around 157, and Facebook roughly 477, while X counts against a 280 character limit. If your hook lands after that cut, most people never read it.

Paste your caption and this preview draws a small mockup card for each platform: the part that stays visible, a greyed "… more", and the hidden remainder, plus a live character count against that fold. Use it as a caption length checker to move the offer, the question, or the payoff above the fold before you post.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write your caption

Type or paste your caption into the box. The character count updates as you go, so you always know how long the whole thing runs.

  2. 2

    Pick the platforms

Toggle Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or YouTube. Each stays on by default, so turn off the ones you are not posting to.

  3. 3

    Read the fold

Each card shows the visible portion, then a greyed "… more" and the hidden text. Rewrite so the important words sit before the cut, then copy the visible part to check it reads on its own.

Questions about caption previews

Where does an Instagram caption cut off in the feed?
In the feed Instagram shows roughly the first 125 characters, then a "more" link. The exact spot shifts a little by device and line breaks, so treat 125 as a safe planning number and keep your hook well inside it.
How do I see how a post looks before posting?
Paste your caption above and each platform card renders a see more preview: the text that stays on screen, a greyed "… more", and the part that hides behind the fold. It is the same truncation each app applies, without you having to publish a test post.
Is this different from a plain character counter?
Yes. A counter only gives you a number. This shows the fold visually per platform, so you can see whether your call to action survives the cut on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and YouTube, not just how many characters you typed.
Is it free?
Yes, it is free with no sign up. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is uploaded, saved, or sent anywhere.
