- Usually, yes, by a little. Sound reaches the brain through a slightly shorter path than sight, so most people react to a beep a few milliseconds quicker than to a change on screen. On a click test like this, audio reactions often land around 190 to 230 milliseconds.
- Why was my round cancelled?
- If you click before the beep plays, the round is voided so you cannot guess the timing and post a fake-fast score. The test only counts the gap after the sound actually starts.
- Do I need headphones?
- No, any speakers work, but headphones make the beep easier to catch the instant it plays, especially in a noisy room. Just make sure your volume is up before you start.
- What is a good auditory reaction time?
