Image Redactor

Hide faces, license plates, names and account numbers in a picture before you share it. Draw a box over anything private and blur it, pixelate it or black it out, then download a clean copy with the camera and location data removed.

Redact an image online free. Drop in a screenshot or photo, draw a box over anything you want hidden, and choose to blur, pixelate or black it out. Because the picture is redrawn when you download it, the original location and camera data is stripped from the saved file. Nothing is uploaded, so private documents and photos stay on your device.

    Add an image

Drop in any photo or screenshot. It stays on your device.

Draw a box over each face, plate or detail. Pick blur, pixelate or a solid bar, and set the strength.

  3. 3

Frequently asked questions

How do I redact an image?
Add your image, draw a box over each part you want hidden, and choose blur, pixelate or a black bar. Then download the result. The covered areas are baked into the saved file.
Can the blurred area be recovered?
No. The redaction is drawn into the exported pixels, not laid over the top as a filter. Once you download the blurred or blacked-out version, the hidden detail is gone from that file.
Does it remove location data too?
Yes. The image is redrawn through your browser on export, which drops the original metadata, including GPS location and camera details, from the downloaded file.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens on your device and nothing is sent to a server, which is the point when you are hiding private information.
