Frequently asked questions

What size can I make the placeholder?
Anything from a tiny 1×1 up to 5000 pixels on a side. Type the exact width and height you need, or start from one of the presets and adjust.
Can I change the color and the text?
Yes. Set your own background and text color, and type any label. If you leave the label blank it prints the dimensions, which is handy for spotting the size at a glance.
Is the placeholder a real PNG file?
Yes. You get a standard PNG you can save, drop into a slide or design file, or reference in code. You can also copy it as a data URL to inline it directly.
Do I need an internet connection or an account?
No account, and once the page has loaded the image is drawn locally, so it keeps working offline. Nothing is uploaded.
Can I use these images in a commercial project?
