Frequently asked questions

Why does each row have 52 weeks instead of 52.14?
A year is about 52 and a sixth weeks, but the chart uses a clean 52 boxes per row so every year lines up in a tidy grid. The count of weeks lived is worked out from your exact birth date in real days, so the filled boxes stay accurate even though each row is rounded to 52.
How is the number of weeks lived worked out?
It counts the actual days from your birth date to today, including every leap-year February 29, then divides by seven and rounds down to whole weeks. Nothing you enter leaves your browser; the whole grid is built on your own device.
What life expectancy should I use?
The default is 90 years, which suits most people as a round, hopeful figure. You can set anything from 1 to 120. It only changes how many rows the grid has, so pick whatever feels right for you or matches a figure you have in mind.
Can I print it as a poster?
Yes. Download the PDF, choose portrait for a tall poster or landscape for a wide one, and print at 100% scale on A4 or US Letter. For a larger poster, most print shops can scale the same PDF up to A3 or bigger.
