Frequently asked questions
- Which banks are covered?
- German banks, from the official free bank directory. Other countries are not included in the lookup yet.
- How current is the data?
- The directory is published quarterly and refreshed from the official source. Very new banks may take a little while to appear.
- Is a BIC the same as a SWIFT code?
- Yes. BIC (Bank Identifier Code) is the formal name and SWIFT code is the everyday name for the same 8 or 11 character code that identifies a bank for international transfers.
